As Drishyam 3 successfully continues to rule the box office, there have been developments that have landed the film in legal trouble. A farmer from Idukki District in the state of Kerala is accusing the filmmakers of using a car that has his registration number without his consent.
According to reports, R.D. Rajeev, a resident of Kunchithanny in Idukki, has filed a complaint with the Munnar Deputy Superintendent of Police against producer Antony Perumbavoor, director Jeethu Joseph and members of the film's production team. Rajeev claims that the vehicle seen in the film carries the registration number KL 69 D 2772, which is officially registered in his name.

Farmer alleges unwanted attention after film's release
The controversy reportedly came to Rajeev's attention after friends who watched the film informed him that the registration number shown on Georgekutty's vehicle matched that of his own car.
Upon verification, Rajeev found that the number displayed in the film was identical to his vehicle registration. While he owns a white Mahindra Scorpio, he alleges that a different vehicle model in the film carried the same registration number.
The farmer says the film's popularity has resulted in unwanted attention from the public. According to his complaint, many people have started referring to him as "Drishyam Rajeev" and associating his vehicle with the one featured in the movie.
Rajeev has stated that the association has caused him discomfort and concern, particularly because people have begun identifying his vehicle as the "Drishyam vehicle."
To support his claim, he has submitted copies of his vehicle registration certificate to the police.
Complaint seeks apology and removal of scenes
In his complaint, Rajeev has alleged that the registration number was used without permission and has caused him mental distress. He has demanded a public apology from the filmmakers and requested that scenes featuring the disputed registration number be removed from the film. He has also sought a halt to screenings until the matter is addressed.
