‘Mon Maaney Na’ teaser out as Ritwik Bhowmik makes his first Bengali film debut

Mon Maaney Na teaser released: Ritwik Bhowmik and debutant Hiya Chatterjee star in the Bengali romantic drama, set for theatrical release on February 13, 2026.

The Bengali feature film Mon Maaney Na is slated to be released in theatres on February 13, 2026, ahead of Valentine's Day weekend. The trailer for the movie came out on Thursday, January 1.

Set in the Kolkata backdrop, the film focuses on contemporary relationships shaped by uncertainty and emotional hesitation, while drawing contrasts with traditional ideas of romance. The story places Gen-Z characters in situationships that are caught in loop until they collide with older notions of commitment, madness, emotional honesty and music of old school love.

The film is directed by Rahool Mukherjee and produced by Qosmos Films, GP Entertainment and Studio Blotting Paper.

Cast, debut performances and teaser release

The film marks Ritwik Bhowmik’s first appearance in a Bengali film and introduces Hiya Chatterjee in her debut role. The cast includes artists like Soumya Mukerjee, Sweta Mishra, Preeti Sarkar, Kharaj Mukherjee, Sudipa Basu and a brief apperance of by Rukmini Maitra in a special role.

Speaking at the teaser launch, director Rahool Mukherjee said, “This is a film about timing, courage, and the cost of delaying the truth in love. We wanted the teaser to carry that pulse—Kolkata’s warmth, today’s emotional chaos, and the timeless pull of real romance.”

Ritwik Bhowmik said, “This film feels like coming home. Working in Bangla, in Kolkata, with a love story that understands both today’s chaos and yesterday’s honesty—Mon Maaney Na gave me something rare: romance with texture.”

“This is my debut, and I couldn’t have asked for a better first film. I’m grateful for the trust and the space to learn—Mon Maaney Na will always be my first big-screen love,” said Hiya Chatterjee, making her big-screen debut.

The teaser is available now on Saregama’s official digital platforms and those of the producers. Further details on music releases and promotions are expected in the coming weeks.
