The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday recreated the final moments leading up to the death of actor-model Twisha Sharma at her in-laws' residence in Bhopal's Katara Hills area.
As part of the reconstruction exercise, investigators used a noose, a belt and an 80-kg dummy to recreate the sequence in which Twisha was allegedly brought down after being found hanging on May 12. The exercise was carried out at the house where the 33-year-old was found dead.
According to reports of NDTV, the agency brought Twisha's husband Samarth Singh and his mother, retired district judge Giribala Singh, to the residence to understand their version of events and compare it with available evidence.
What the accused told investigators
As per the reports quoted in NDTV's report, the information accessed by investigators, Samarth Singh reportedly claimed that he had taken Twisha down from the hanging position, while Giribala Singh allegedly untied the knot around her neck.
The CBI reconstruction was aimed at verifying these claims and understanding whether the sequence described by the accused matched the physical circumstances at the scene. Officials reportedly asked both mother and son to demonstrate how the events unfolded on the night of May 12.

Investigators also examined the alleged ligature used in the case. The strength of the belt was tested to determine how much weight it could withstand as part of the forensic assessment.
Focus on forensic evidence
The reconstruction comes amid intensified scrutiny of the investigation. Earlier reports had raised questions regarding the belt allegedly used in the incident after it was not produced before doctors during the post-mortem examination. This prevented an immediate scientific comparison between the ligature marks and the alleged hanging instrument.
As per the re[ports of NDTV the agency has also conducted forensic inspections at the Katara Hills residence with the help of a specialised team from Delhi. Photography, videography and evidence collection were carried out during earlier visits to the property.
Case remains under investigation
The CBI arrested Giribala Singh after the Madhya Pradesh High Court cancelled her anticipatory bail. Both Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh remain in CBI custody till June 2 as the agency continues its investigation.

Twisha Sharma's family has accused her husband and in-laws of dowry harassment and mental torture. They have alleged that gifts and dowry provided during the marriage were repeatedly described as being "below their standard." The family has maintained that sustained harassment led to her death.
As per the reports of NDTV, the CBI is expected to continue questioning the accused and examining forensic evidence as it attempts to establish the exact sequence of events surrounding the case.
