The teacher, who was on her way to take a private tuition class, was ambushed on the road and attacked with a sharp weapon. She is currently hospitalised, while police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation.
Teacher attacked on the road
According to police and local sources, the student allegedly blocked the teacher’s path in the Sadar Kotwali area and attacked her following a brief argument, cutting off both her lips before fleeing the scene. The woman was left severely injured and bleeding. She was initially taken to the district hospital and later referred to Agra for advanced treatment. Her condition is reported to be critical.

Responding to the outrage, Mainpuri police confirmed on X that an FIR has been registered. “In the referenced case, an FIR has been registered, and further legal proceedings are underway,” police said in an official statement.

Media reports suggest the student had allegedly harassed and molested the teacher earlier at her previous workplace. Although his behaviour reportedly improved briefly after complaints from her family, the harassment is said to have resumed. The teacher later changed schools, but the student allegedly continued to stalk her.
Police sources said the situation escalated into violence when the teacher strongly objected to his behaviour on the day of the attack. The incident has once again raised serious concerns over women’s safety and the handling of stalking and harassment complaints.
