On Sunday afternoon, a Lamborghini worth approximately ₹12 crore, reportedly owned by the son of a renowned tobacco kingpin, sped out of control through a busy stretch of road of Kanpur road corridor in Uttar Pradesh, leaving six injured individuals in its wake.

The accident took place at around 3:15 pm near Rev-3 Mall in the Ring Wala locality of Kanpur. The police and eyewitnesses report that the luxury car, which was speeding, swerved and hit an auto-rickshaw and motorcycle before skidding on the curb.

The vehicle was reportedly being driven by Shivam Mishra, son of billionaire tobacco businessman KK Mishra.

Sequence of events

Eyewitnesses said the Lamborghini first struck an auto-rickshaw and then crashed into a parked Royal Enfield motorcycle. The impact threw the biker nearly 10 feet into the air. The car reportedly mounted the motorcycle’s front wheel, dragged it for some distance, and finally came to a halt after hitting an electric pole.

Family cites medical condition

Soon after the incident, the family claimed that the driver had a medical condition and may have suffered a seizure while driving.

“He has been suffering from these episodes for the last six months,” a family member told the police.

Crowd gathers, bouncers alleged to intervene

Following the crash, angry locals surrounded the car, attempting to prevent the driver from leaving. Some witnesses alleged that private bouncers arrived at the spot, broke a window of the car, took out the driver, and drove away in another vehicle.
