Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday renewed his long-running attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s educational credentials, linking it to the disruption in the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate, or CUET-UG, 2026.
Sharing a post by AAP leader Atishi, Kejriwal wrote, “The country needs an educated PM.” The comment came after the National Testing Agency said the day’s CUET schedule had been hit by a technical glitch at its technology partner, Tata Consultancy Services, leading to delays of up to two hours at centres across multiple states.
The agency later revised the afternoon shift, moving the reporting time to 2:30 pm and the exam start to 4 pm.

A fresh volley across the examination field
Atishi framed the disruption as part of a wider pattern of exam-related problems, writing on X, “First NEET, then CBSE, now CUET,” as she targeted Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also weighed in on the controversy, grouping NEET, CBSE, SSC and CUET together and blaming the government for failing students.
Kejriwal’s latest remarks were in line with his repeated questioning of Modi’s academic background, an issue he has raised before in public speeches and on social media.
We know today's unfortunate technical disruption caused distress for some CUET (UG) 2026 candidates.

An uneasy season for India's test-takers
The CUET-UG, introduced in 2022 under the National Education Policy, is the national entrance test for undergraduate admissions in central, state and some private universities.
It is conducted in multiple shifts over several days, and this year’s cycle runs from May 11 to 31, according to the report. The disruption on Saturday added to a broader set of examination controversies that have kept the NTA and the education ministry under pressure.
NEET-UG 2026, held on May 3, was cancelled after allegations of paper leaks, with the government ordering a CBI probe and scheduling a re-examination for more than 22 lakh aspirants on June 21.

An old question refuses to leave the stage
Kejriwal and the AAP have long sought disclosure of the prime minister’s academic records through the RTI route, while Modi’s 2014 election affidavit declared a BA from Delhi University and an MA from Gujarat University.
Hindustan Times noted that in 2016, then BJP president Amit Shah and then minister Arun Jaitley released degree certificates at a press conference, and that the Delhi High Court later set aside a CIC order directing Delhi University to disclose records.
Appeals in the case are still pending, keeping the issue alive in court and in politics.
