Only a few days ago, Aam Aadmi Party’s Raghav Chadha’s diminished public exposure has prompted rumours of his possible move to the Bharatiya Janata Party. But the top leader of the AAP party and a member of the Rajya Sabha, Sanjay Singh, has intervened to draw a fine line.

Addressing the speculation, Singh called the rumours “completely baseless”. In his view, Chadha continues to remain an integral part of the AAP ecosystem, someone who shares both responsibility and rapport with the party’s top leadership.

Singh pointed to Chadha’s political journey within the party to underline his argument. From being nominated to the Rajya Sabha to handling key responsibilities in Punjab, Chadha’s trajectory reflects trust and continuity rather than distance. Singh also noted that Chadha has recently secured relief in legal matters factors that, according to him, make the idea of an exit seem even more unlikely.

How Raghav Chadha joining BJP actually surfaced

Notably, Chadha’s absence from party offices, press briefings, and even social media reactions, particularly following Arvind Kejriwal’s discharge in the Delhi excise case, has not gone unnoticed.

Considering this, Singh has acknowledged that indeed Chadha has declined in his public face over the past few months. He even told Indian Today that Chadha would be better placed to tell why there has been a comparative silence on his part.

The ups and downs of a politician's career are ordinary aspects of a politician's life, which cannot be misunderstood, Singh said. He also mentioned that these changes are a component of a greater political cycle and do not imply any change in ideology or organisational exit.

He went ahead to say that it is not right to make blanket conclusions, when it comes to basing a decision on lesser appearances alone, which gives the party a solid ground that Chadha is well within its ranks.
