Within hours of Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi issuing a stern warning to Pakistan, the Jammu and Kashmir border heated up again. On Tuesday, at least two suspicious drones were spotted flying near the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district. As soon as this incident came to notice, the Indian Army took swift action. The drones were fired upon to neutralise them.

According to army sources, multiple Pakistani drones were spotted near the Dungala-Nabla area of the Rajouri sector on Tuesday evening. As soon as drone infiltration along the Line of Control was detected, Indian Army personnel began firing at the drones following standard operating procedures.
Previous drone sightings raise security concerns
Just before this incident, the Army Chief had issued a stern warning to Pakistan against provocation from across the border and ceasefire violations. Within hours of that warning, this drone attack has heightened tensions in the border area again. Currently, strict surveillance is underway throughout the area. Security forces remain on high alert.
Last Sunday too, at least five drones were spotted along the international border and Line of Control in Samba, Rajouri and Poonch districts. As soon as drones were spotted in Gania-Kalsiyan village of Naushera sector in Rajouri district, the Indian Army opened fire without delay. All five drones circled in Indian airspace for some time before returning towards Pakistan.

With Pakistan's drone attacks twice within three days, security officials suspect that some large-scale sabotage is being planned. It is believed that apart from surveillance through drones, drugs or weapons may also be smuggled.
