Delhi imposes 9 am to 8 pm traffic curbs as AI Impact Summit wraps up; key routes affected

Delhi Police has announced traffic restrictions across key routes from 9 am to 8 pm due to the AI Impact Expo and Bar Council elections.

Delhi Traffic Police has announced traffic restrictions and diversions in several parts of the city due to the India AI Impact Expo 2026 and upcoming Bar Council elections.

As the India AI Impact Expo 2026 reaches its final day at Bharat Mandapam on Saturday, Delhi Traffic Police has issued a detailed advisory warning commuters about traffic curbs across the national capital. Authorities said the steps are being taken to manage heavy crowds and ensure public safety.

In a post on X, Delhi Police said, “Due to official exigencies, traffic will remain affected near Rajghat from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Restrictions and diversions may be imposed on need basis to ensure smooth movement and public safety.”

Restrictions in place from 9 am to 8 pm

According to the advisory, traffic regulations will remain in force from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM in and around Bharat Mandapam. Police have warned that congestion is likely on several major roads during these hours.

Likely diversion points include ITO Chowk, Delhi Gate, Guru Nanak Chowk, Shanti Van Chowk, Rajghat DTC Depot and IP Flyover.

Road stretches that may be affected include BSZ Marg (ITO to Delhi Gate), Shanti Van Chowk to IP Flyover, Asaf Ali Road (Delhi Gate to N.S. Marg), Shanti Van Chowk to Nishad Raj Marg, Guru Nanak Chowk to Ranjeet Singh Flyover, and Rajghat DTC Depot to Ring Road By-Pass. Bhairon Road, Bhagwan Dass Road, Purana Qila Road and Mathura Road may also see traffic impact.

Motorists have been advised to use alternate routes such as Tilak Marg, Sikandra Road and Ring Road to avoid delays.

Special arrangements near Delhi High Court

Traffic curbs will also be enforced near the Delhi High Court from February 21 to 23, 2026, due to polling for 25 members of the Bar Council of Delhi. Voting will take place from 9 am to 6 pm on all three days.

Sher Shah Road, from the India Gate and Mathura Road sides, will remain closed during polling hours. Commuters have been advised to avoid Tilak Marg, C-Hexagon at India Gate, Zakir Hussain Marg, Sher Shah Road and Purana Quila Road during this period.
