Free bus travel for NEET candidates
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that NEET UG 2026 candidates will be able to use DTC buses without paying fares on the examination day. The facility is intended to help students reach their designated examination centres conveniently and on time.
According to the announcement, candidates will be required to show their NEET UG admit cards to avail themselves of the free travel service. The government expects the measure to benefit a large number of students travelling from different parts of the city.
Government aims to ease exam-day stress
The decision has been taken to reduce logistical difficulties faced by students and their families during major competitive examinations. Travel arrangements often become a challenge because candidates are allotted centres that may be located far from their homes.
By providing free transportation, the Delhi government hopes to make commuting easier and reduce last-minute difficulties on the day of the examination. Authorities have also urged students to plan their journeys in advance and leave for their centres with sufficient time in hand.
Arrangements for smooth examination conduct
The administration has been coordinating with various departments to ensure that examination-day arrangements remain hassle-free. Transport services are expected to operate in a manner that supports the movement of candidates across the city.
Officials are also expected to monitor traffic and transportation networks to minimise disruptions. The focus remains on ensuring that students can reach examination venues safely and without unnecessary delays.
