The Telangana government is mulling a new law against government employees neglecting their elderly parents. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced the plan on Monday, NDTV reported.
What did Revanth Reddy say?
On Monday, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said that it has come to his notice that some government employees are neglecting their parents. As a remedy for the issue, the Chief Minister announced that his administration will be bringing in legislation in the upcoming budget session, which would allow the deduction of 10 to 15 per cent of the salaries of government employees who don't look after their parents. This amount will be directly transferred to the accounts of the parents.
Revanth Reddy also said that the ones not looking after their parents are not fulfilling their obligations to society. The Telangana Chief Minister also noted that his government was setting up day care centres for the elderly named 'Pranaam,' NDTV reported.

Reddy announces more representation of transgender community
The Telangana CM also announced that his administration will be providing the transgender community with more representation in government. For this, he announced that in every municipal corporation in the state, one co-option member post will be reserved for the transgender community in the next elections to local bodies.

He said that the aim of his government is to build a state where no individual is left behind. Revanth Reddy also announced the introduction of a universal health policy for all Telangana residents, which could be used to get medical treatment.
