As the tournament completed its league phase, both teams ended up in the top two and grabbed the opportunity to have an extra lifeline. Both of the teams had done really well with their combinations. Sticking with the plans has worked for them because fewer changes gave stability which many teams lack.

What has worked for both of the teams?

Stability

both teams had prioritised their main XI, before coming into the tournament, RCB had very few areas to fill, they just needed the right backups for the right moment.

Whereas, Gujarat needed to fill some loopholes, coming off the tournament, they failed to find the right combination but things started to click when they found out the loopholes and stuck with the plans.

Performance in all departments

RCB and GT shares the most numbers with both bat and balls, from dominating the Purple cap leaderboard to dominating the orange cap leader board, players of these two teams dominate all areas. Fielding also remained one of the finest from both sides.

For RCB, Bhuvi has taken the most number of wickets with the lowest economy, and Kagiso Rabada of the Gujarat Titans has picked the same number of wickets with a greater economy. In the orange cap leaderboard, Gill and Sai Sudharshan once again showed domination whereas Virat Kohli also crossed the 500 run margin once again in a tournament like this.
