Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals are set for a high-stakes Qualifier 2 clash, with a place in the IPL 2026 final on the line. After suffering a heavy defeat against RCB in Qualifier 1, GT will look to make the most of their second opportunity, while RR arrive with momentum and confidence. The batting-friendly conditions in New Chandigarh have produced several high-scoring encounters this season, although a worn surface could bring bowlers into the contest.

The match features several intriguing battles. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal have formed one of the tournament’s most explosive opening pairs and will test the pace attack led by Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada. In response, Gujarat’s hopes rest heavily on the prolific duo of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, both among the leading run-scorers this season.

One key contest to watch will be Jofra Archer against Gill; the fast bowler has dismissed the GT skipper three times in seven T20 innings. Rajasthan will also target GT’s middle order, while Gujarat’s bowlers will aim to exploit Jaiswal’s relative struggles against spin in a contest expected to be decided by a few crucial moments.

Key players to watch out for

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (RR): The young opener has been one of the biggest stories of IPL 2026. His fearless approach at the top and ability to clear the ropes from ball one make him Rajasthan’s most dangerous batter.

Shubman Gill (GT): Gujarat’s captain has led from the front throughout the season. With runs, consistency and composure under pressure, Gill remains the cornerstone of GT’s batting lineup.

Sai Sudharsan (GT): Among the leading run-scorers this season, Sudharsan has combined elegance with efficiency and has been crucial in building GT’s strong batting foundation.

Jos Buttler (GT): The experienced England star brings big-match pedigree and explosive strokeplay. His ability to accelerate against both pace and spin makes him a game-changing presence.

Jofra Archer (RR): Archer’s pace, bounce and knack for striking in crucial moments could prove decisive. His head-to-head record against Gill adds another layer of intrigue to the contest.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR): While Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s rise has stolen much of the spotlight, Jaiswal remains a proven match-winner whose explosive starts can still shape the outcome of a big game.
