Kolkata Knight Riders opened their points table account by defeating the Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens. More than anything, with this win, KKR got their confidence back, 350 days later, when Rinku Singh and Varun Chakravarthy shone in the Eden, Kolkata felt it. The golden stripes of KKR have not shone for the last 350 days. Rajasthan Royals failed to score the above-par score as they were only able to put 155 runs in 20 overs, credit goes to KKR’s bowling line-up which has got the tag of the weakest bowling line-up this year but their performance against one of the strongest batting line-ups will surely boost their confidence.

What did he say?
Talking about the importance of the win, the Chennai boy said as quoted by News byte, “Very, very significant. I can tell you I saw many tears in the dressing room today, which we didn't even see in the year we won the IPL in 2024."

During the post-match presentation, he said, “ Yeah, it feels great. Before I talk about myself, I think I need to give credit to the entire coaching staff because it has been a tough week of matches and things didn't go our way and there was too much outside noise and the head coach and the other coaches also never let that noise affect us. We were in our own process. So I think we all deserve this win, even though it's just one win, it feels very sweet.”
KKR will next face the Lucknow Super Giants on April 26.
