The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has opened applications for 650 Assistant posts across the country. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official website. The last date to complete the registration process is March 8, 2026.
As per the schedule, the preliminary examination will be conducted on April 11, 2026, while the main examination is slated for June 7, 2026.
Eligibility and age limit
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks. For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, a pass class is sufficient. Candidates should also have knowledge of word processing on a PC.
The prescribed age limit is 20 to 28 years. Only candidates born not earlier than February 2, 1998, and not later than February 1, 2006 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.

Selection process and examination fee
The recruitment process consists of three stages:
Preliminary Examination
Main Examination
Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

The prelims will feature 100 questions carrying 100 marks and will be conducted for 60 minutes. The main examination will comprise 200 questions for 200 marks with a duration of 135 minutes. Candidates shortlisted from the main exam will be required to clear the LPT in the official or local language of the respective state.
Candidates must qualify separately in each section of the objective test and clear the preliminary exam to be eligible for the main exam.
The examination fee is ₹50 plus 18% GST for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen categories, and ₹450 plus 18% GST for General/OBC/EWS candidates. The fee must be paid online.
