Teenage batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi etched his name into the record books after smashing the fastest fifty in List A cricket during the Tri-Nation Series final between India A and Sri Lanka A in Dambulla on Saturday.
The 15-year-old opener needed just 11 balls to reach his half-century, breaking the previous world record and producing one of the most explosive innings ever seen in the format. His breathtaking knock gave India A a flying start in the title clash and left the Sri Lankan bowlers with no answers.
Record-breaking assault stuns Sri Lanka A
Sooryavanshi took charge from the outset, attacking every bowler who came his way. Boundaries and sixes flowed freely as the youngster raced to his fifty at a remarkable pace.

His half-century came in just 11 deliveries, setting a new benchmark in List A cricket and highlighting the immense potential that has made him one of India’s most exciting young prospects.
India A build massive total
After reaching the milestone, Sooryavanshi continued his aggressive approach and eventually scored 94 runs from just 29 balls. His innings included 10 fours and eight sixes and came at a staggering strike rate of over 324.
Although he missed out on a century by six runs, his innings had already inflicted significant damage on Sri Lanka A. India A crossed 140 runs inside the first 10 overs, with Sooryavanshi’s fireworks laying the foundation for a huge score.

The Indian side eventually posted 377 runs, putting Sri Lanka A under enormous pressure in the final.
