India A clinched the Tri-Nation A Series title in dominant fashion after teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced a breathtaking display in the final against Sri Lanka A in Dambulla. The 15-year-old opener shattered records with the fastest fifty in List A cricket history, setting the tone for a comprehensive Indian victory.

Sooryavanshi the record books

Sooryavanshi wasted no time taking charge of the final, attacking the Sri Lankan bowlers from the outset. The left-hander raced to his half-century in just 11 deliveries, creating a new List A cricket record and putting India A firmly in control.

The youngster continued his assault and looked destined for a memorable century before being dismissed for 94 off only 29 balls. His explosive innings featured 10 fours and eight sixes, leaving the opposition struggling to contain him. The knock provided India A with the ideal platform to build a massive total.

Facing a daunting target, Sri Lanka A attempted to stay in the contest through contributions from Sadeera Samarawickrama and Wanuja Sahan. However, the required run rate kept climbing as India A’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout the chase.

The hosts were eventually bowled out for 311, handing India A a comfortable 66-run victory and the tri-series crown.
