Yograj Singh, Yuvraj Singh’s father, often dragged the names of MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev in his controversial statements. Yuvraj Singh’s father was a former Indian cricketer who often blamed Kapil Dev, saying he had ruined his career. On the other hand, he also blamed Dhoni for ruining Yuvraj Singh’s career.
In a podcast of Sportstak, Yuvraj Singh opened up on this matter and said, “I would like to apologise to Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni for these comments.” He also added, "I told dad, it's not okay."
Yograj Singh gave all of his efforts to make Yuvraj Singh one of the greatest, and still, at the age of 68, he is largely active in the pitch and practice sessions of his academy. His comments on big players often put Yuvraj Singh in trouble. Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni are two of the greatest captains in Indian cricket history, having won the ODI World Cup for their country. Nonetheless, Yograj made some avoidable remarks against them. He accused Dhoni of damaging Yuvraj's final chapter of his career and slammed Kapil for "dropping him for no reason." Yuvraj added that he told his father unequivocally that such remarks are not acceptable.
What did Yuvraj Singh tell his father?
Speaking about the negative comments made by his father, he said, "Kapil was a great player and captain for India. I don't know what the issue was between him and my father. I have played with MS Dhoni and have always expressed my relationship with him. But what my dad has said about him, I told him, it's not okay. It reflects on me as I have played with him."

Adding to that, he said in the podcast with Vikrant Gupta, “I told him I would appreciate it if he didn't say these things, whatever the reasons. I sincerely would like to apologise to both of them. And they also know that those words are not mine. As cricketers, I have huge respect for them for whatever they have done for the country.”
Relationship with his father
Despite a strained relationship in the past, Yograj and Yuvraj have gradually moved beyond their differences, once sharing a strictly coach-and-trainee dynamic. Today, their bond has evolved into something far more personal, as they embrace a more natural father-son relationship.
