Kerala Blasters FC delivered a clinical and composed performance to secure a 2-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League 2025–26 season at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday. Goals from Nihal Sudheesh and Vibin Mohanan, coupled with a resilient defensive effort led by Arsh Shaikh, ensured all three points for the hosts.
The game began at an energetic pace, with both teams eager to control the midfield. Kerala showed early attacking intent through Karim Benarif and Kévin Yoke, while Jamshedpur looked structured in possession. The breakthrough came in the 12th minute when Yoke released Benarif down the left. The winger beat his marker and delivered a precise cross, which Nihal Sudheesh met with a well-timed header to give Kerala the lead.

Jamshedpur nearly responded instantly as Lazar Ćirković’s powerful header from a corner struck the post, offering the hosts a momentary escape. Despite a competitive tempo, the visitors struggled to convert their chances.
Vibin doubles the advantage before the break
Kerala extended their lead in the 36th minute through substitute Vibin Mohanan. Introduced earlier for the injured Benarif, Vibin capitalised on a pinpoint cross from Francisco Feuillassier, heading home confidently to make it 2-0. Jamshedpur attempted to fight back before halftime, but Arsh Shaikh remained alert to deny efforts from Vincy Barretto and Mohammed Sanan.
Defensive discipline seals victory
Jamshedpur came out aggressively after the break, with Rei Tachikawa, Ritwik Das, and Messi Bouli testing Kerala’s defence. However, Arsh Shaikh stood firm with a series of crucial saves, frustrating the visitors’ attacking push. Kerala remained dangerous on the counter, with Yoke and Víctor Bertomeu creating openings. Any hopes of a comeback for Jamshedpur ended in the 84th minute when captain Stephen Eze received a red card.
