Anjum Saeed was the manager of the Pakistan team on the hockey Pro League tour. He was returning from Argentina with the team. Their plane had a layover at Rio de Janeiro airport in Brazil. At that time, Anjum Saeed allegedly started smoking on the plane itself. According to reports, the plane landed in Rio de Janeiro for refueling. During that time, he started smoking. The airline crew made him get off the plane and he was not allowed to board again.

He was supposed to come to Dubai from Argentina via Brazil. After being made to disembark in Rio de Janeiro, he could not come to Dubai with the team. He had to buy a separate ticket to return to Dubai. At that time, he had cited personal reasons for not returning to Dubai with the team.
Regarding this matter, an official from the Pakistan Sports Board said that the Pakistan Hockey Federation has been informed about this issue. An independent investigation will be conducted into this matter. The Pakistan Sports Board has stated that after Anjum Saeed was caught smoking, he and another team player expressed anger towards the airline crew. After that, the airline crew informed the airport authorities, and he was made to disembark. It has been learned that he will not be able to board that airline's planes in the future.
