Infosys has been fined €175,000, which comes to around ₹ 2 crore, by a French labour authority.
The fine relates to the company not fully following rules about how it records its employees’ working hours. Infosys shared this information in a regulatory filing on Saturday.

The penalty was imposed by DRIEETS Île de France, which is the regional labour, employment and social solidarity authority in France. Infosys said it received the communication about the fine on July 24, 2026.

What went wrong?
The authority found some shortcomings in Infosys’ system for recording employee working hours. These included problems with how reliable the system was, how well it could be audited, and how it monitored working hours for certain categories of employees.

Impact on the company
Infosys said the fine would not affect it in any major way. “The penalty will not have any material impact on its financials, operations or other activities,” the company said.

Infosys also explained why it took some time to share this information publicly. “The Company was in the process of checking the veracity and determining further steps, upon receipt of communication,” Infosys said.
