AI Summit 2026 Delhi visit
The French leader was scheduled to visit the ongoing AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi during his three-day visit to India, along with other world leaders and major brains behind the global AI marathon, like Sam Altman, Sundar Pichai, Dario Amodei and many more.
During his speech at Asia's biggest AI Summit, President Macron commended India for its indegeneously developped payment gateway, the Unified Payment System (UPI).
"India built something that no other country in the world has built. A digital identity for 1.4 billion people. A payment system that now processes 20 billion transactions every month," said the French President during his speech.
He also added that such digital infrastructure will support rapid technological expansion in the coming years. According to him, India has already established a strong foundation in artificial intelligence and digital technology, and its global role in these sectors is expected to grow further. The visit marked the French leadership’s fourth official trip to India.
