'Whole mood of February depends on only one woman': Netizens go live with memes on social media even before FM's Budget presentation

As Finance minister (FM) Nirmala Sitharaman presented her ninth consecutive Union Budget on Sunday, social media went abuzz with a massive meme fest. While the Budget aimed at propelling the growth and development of India, it also sparked creativity online as social media users flooded X (formerly Twitter) and shared hilarious reactions. Most of these memes focused on the middle class.

The reactions

Even before the FM began the live presenting the Budget, the social media platform had gone live.

One user shared a meme that was captioned, "Nirmala Sitharaman to Middle Class people."

Another user wrote, "Common man expectations from #Budget2026."

Talking about salaried people, one user wrote on X, "Apke fund se thoda paise mil jaata toh baadhiya ho jaata."

A user shared an image of the Finance minister holding a green pouch and captioned it, "What every investor and trader wishes."
