A viral video claiming to show CRPF deployment with heavy vehicles in West Bengal ahead of the Assembly elections is misleading, a fact-check has found. The clip is being circulated on social media with claims that such deployment is aimed at dealing with alleged violence and ensuring free and fair polling in the state.
The verification was conducted by the Digital Forensics, Research and Analytics Center (DFRAC). The organisation stated that the claim linking the video to West Bengal elections is false.
