The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has formally submitted its list of star campaigners for Phase I of the West Bengal Assembly elections 2026, outlining key leaders and public figures who will lead the party's campaign.
Official submission to Election Commission
The party addressed its list to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal. The letter states, "Please find enclosed herewith the list of Star Campaigners of AITC for West Bengal (Phase I) in connection with the ensuing General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal, 2026."
It further notes that if no additional list is submitted for subsequent phases, the same list may be treated as applicable for the "remaining phases as well".
Key names leading the campaign
The list includes 40 names. Among the prominent leaders are Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee and Subrata Bakshi, alongside senior figures such as Firhad Hakim, Chandrima Bhattacharya and Kalyan Banerjee.
Also included are national and regional faces like Shatrughan Sinha, Mahua Moitra, Kirti Azad and Satabdi Roy, reflecting a mix of political leadership and public figures.
The list also features names from diverse backgrounds, including Deepak Adhikari (Dev), June Maliah, Sayantika Banerjee and Koel Mallick. These inclusions point to the party's effort to combine political outreach with wider public engagement during the campaign.
Other names such as Partha Bhowmick, Saayoni Ghosh, Babul Supriyo and Yusuf Pathan are also part of the campaign lineup.
Polling schedule
According to the announced schedule, the first phase will cover 152 Assembly constituencies, while the second phase will include 142 constituencies, completing polling for all 294 seats of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.
The gazette notification for the first phase will be issued on March 30, 2026, while the second phase notification will be issued on April 2, 2026. The last date for filing nominations will be April 6 for the first phase and April 9 for the second phase.

Scrutiny of nominations is scheduled for April 7 and April 10, while the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be April 9 and April 13, respectively, for the two phases.
Polling will take place on April 23 (first phase) and April 29 (second phase). The counting of votes will be conducted on May 4, 2026, with the entire election process expected to be completed by May 6, 2026.
