Trains are the biggest hope in public transport. Speed has increased with time, routes and stations have expanded. Passenger comfort has improved. Local trains now have AC coaches too. And amid all this, from January 1, i.e., the first day of 2026, several changes are coming to the timing, frequency, and routes of mail, express, passenger trains, and local trains.
Routes of 15 local trains, extended—
Multiple local trains running Howrah-Arambagh, Howrah-Tarakeshwar, Arambagh-Howrah, Tarakeshwar-Howrah will go up to Goghat in Hooghly from the 1st.

30113 Bibadi Bagh-Barrackpore, 31242 Barrackpore-Sealdah local will go up to Kalyani.
Local (EMU) train frequency changes
33318 Hasnabad-Barasat, 33321 Barasat-Hasnabad used to run 6 days a week till now. From the 1st, they will run daily.

31223 Sealdah-Barrackpore, 30116 Barrackpore-Bibadi Bagh, 30113 Bibadi Bagh-Barrackpore, 31242 Barrackpore-Sealdah local used to run 7 days a week till now. Now they will run 6 days a week.
