Three members of the same family died in an elephant attack. Among the dead is also a child. This attack occurred on Tuesday in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

According to forest department sources, this brings the death toll from elephant attacks in the area to 9 people in the past 6 days. At least 6 people have been injured in elephant attacks. Forest department officials claim that after becoming separated from its herd, the elephant is attacking various areas in the region. Efforts are being made to capture it. They are also trying to send the rogue elephant back to the forest. A specialist team from West Bengal has also been deployed for this task. However, the elephant had not been located as of Tuesday night.

What happened?

It has been learned that on Tuesday, the rogue elephant attacked Soan village in Golikera block. In this attack, Kundra Bhada and his daughter, Kadma and son Samur died.

Officials said the elephant attacked on Tuesday morning when the family members were sleeping. The elephant attack destroyed their house. Kundra's wife somehow managed to save her life. However, their other daughter Jingi was injured. She suffered serious head injuries. She has been sent to Rourkela hospital for treatment.

Forest department officials went to the village immediately after receiving news of the attack. For now, the deceased's wife has been assisted with 20,000 rupees. Officials have also said that the tribal family will be given compensation following government rules.

Residents are terrified as elephants continue to attack regularly in the area. Besides houses, the elephant is also destroying crops in fields and even grains stored at home. For this reason, they have demanded that appropriate action be taken.
