West Bengal Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Aroop Biswas has resigned from his position. His resignation from the post has been accepted by the government.
A letter, allegedly written by Aroop Biswas, came into light earlier this morning after a senior Trinamool Congress leader posted the same on social media. It is being reported that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will herself look after the Sports and Youth Affairs ministry.
Will Aroop Biswas leave the cabinet?
Aroop Biswas is also the Power Minister of the West Bengal government. Even after the Chief Minister accepted his resignation as Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, he will continue to remain a member of the state cabinet. Reports say that senior officials of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department were called to the state secretariat soon after Biswas expressed his wish to step down from the post.
