Is the conflict between Iran and America now final? The clouds of war have thickened further in the Middle East. By Wednesday evening, American personnel were ordered to evacuate from Al-Udeid in Qatar, America’s largest base in West Asia. American officials have described this as a “precautionary measure.”

However, according to sources cited by news agency Reuters, this Pentagon move is actually part of a “war strategy” ahead of a possible large-scale conflict. Israeli intelligence sources have claimed that American President Donald Trump has practically decided on military intervention in Iran.

When the situation intensified amid this war of words, news emerged of the reduction of American troops from the Qatari base. The Qatari government also stated that this step has been taken, keeping regional tensions in mind. According to Reuters sources, the Pentagon is removing most personnel not only from Qatar but also from other major American bases in the Middle East.

Protests in Iran, threats exchanged, and diplomatic talks halted

Human rights organisations claim that the death toll in Iran’s protests has exceeded 2,400. Condemning the Khamenei administration’s repression of protesters, Trump posted on social media on Tuesday, assuring that help is coming while he urged the protesters to continue the movement. He also warned that America would take the “strictest measures” if protesters were given death sentences. Diplomatic talks between the two sides are now completely halted.

In response, Iran has made it clear that it will not remain silent if America attacks. Tehran has warned neighbouring countries that if the US launches attacks using their territory, Iranian missiles will also strike American bases located there. This implies that countries such as Qatar or Bahrain may also be drawn into the conflict.

Last year, after America carried out an aerial attack on Iran, Iranian missiles had struck Al-Udeid base. Just before that attack, the US had quietly moved troops in a similar manner. Is Washington walking the same path again? The entire world is now watching these developments with concern.
