Explosions trigger panic across Kabul
According to a report by India TV, residents reported hearing loud blasts in District 5, while emergency vehicles and security forces rushed to the affected areas soon after the explosions. Some local sources suggested the area near Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence may have been targeted, though officials have not confirmed the exact location or extent of the damage. Aircraft activity reportedly continued over the city even after the blasts.
The incident comes amid rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with Islamabad accusing the Taliban of allowing militants from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan to operate from Afghan territory. Afghan authorities have repeatedly denied the allegations, but cross-border exchanges and security concerns continue to strain relations between the two neighbours.
