Kim Jong Un, the infamous supreme leader of North Korea, was seen testing out the newly made pistols at a gun range. North Korea, which is also a nuclear power controlled by a family for almost a century now, is currently sitting on the sidelines of the global conflict that is escalating in West Asia. Time and again, the leader of the Pacific country has openly criticised the Americans and Israelis and their policies, and now that one of their closest allies, Iran, is getting targeted, these photos of testing new arms are sparking new speculation as to whether it is just a routine arms launch or if North Korea is preparing for a greater conflict.
What is in the picture?
The picture is launched by the North Korean official news agency, the Korean Central News Agency, where we can see the supreme leader trying out a brand new pistol at the gun range. According to the agency, Mr Kim visited a light arms manufacturing company a day earlier to test and review a new pistol that had just entered manufacturing. According to the state media, Mr Kim was there to see the progress of the modernisation of their weapons, and it was reported that after testing the pistol, he uttered the remark, ‘Excellent’. The factory is "playing a very important role in increasing the combat efficiency of the army," Kim was quoted as saying. He emphasised a need to expand the production capacity of the factory "in a far-sighted way," according to KCNA.

His daughter, whose name is believed to be Kim Ju Ae, first made a public appearance in a long-range missile test in November 2022. Post that she made multiple appearances with her father in a growing number of events, including military displays, factory openings and a September trip to Beijing, where Kim Jong Un held his first summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in six years. She is also reportedly spotted in the gun range alongside her father, testing the new pistol.
