The conflict between Iran and Israel continued to intensify in its third week, with fresh missile strikes reported across central Israel, including the densely populated region near Tel Aviv. The escalation has led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and renewed concerns over the effectiveness of air defence systems.

Deadly strike in Ramat Gan

A missile strike in Ramat Gan, near Tel Aviv, resulted in the deaths of two civilians. The victims, an elderly couple, were killed by shrapnel from intercepted ballistic missiles as air raid sirens sounded across the region. The victims were found on the fourth floor of the apartment building and likely did not have time to find a protected space, reported The Times of India.

Initial unconfirmed reports suggested that they were headed to a bomb shelter but since one of them had a disability, they could not reach within time.

Emergency response teams from Magen David Adom reached the site amid widespread destruction. Rescue operations were carried out under difficult conditions, with debris scattered across residential areas and several buildings damaged.

Multiple impact sites and injuries

Israeli police reported that five people were likely wounded in the attack in the Sharon area.

Authorities reported multiple impact points across central Israel. In addition to Ramat Gan, injuries were reported in Sharon and Bnei Brak. Emergency services responded to several locations where missiles or debris struck populated zones.

The strikes disrupted daily life, with residents forced into shelters as warning systems remained active for extended periods.

Infrastructure hit, services disrupted

Critical infrastructure also suffered damage during the attacks. The Tel Aviv Savidor Center railway station was among the affected sites, leading to a suspension of train services in the area. Transport disruptions added to the broader impact of the strikes on civilian movement and routine activities.

Concerns over missile capabilities

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Iran may have used Khorramshahr ballistic missiles equipped with submunitions targeting Israel. If verified, this would indicate a shift in the nature of the attacks and pose new challenges for Israel's air defence systems.

The use of such weaponry could increase the difficulty of interception and raise the risk to civilian areas, as fragments or submunitions spread over wider zones.
