Exam timeline and vacancies
The CBT-1 was held in two phases, from May 7 to May 9, 2026, and then from June 13 to June 20, 2026. The recruitment drive includes 3,058 vacancies for undergraduate NTPC posts such as Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Trains Clerk. Since the released key is provisional, the final result will be prepared only after objections are reviewed and the final answer key is issued.
The objection window opened on June 27, 2026, at 7 pm and will remain open until July 5, 2026, at 11:55 pm. Candidates who spot an error in the question paper, answer options or answer key can submit their objections through the official portal. A fee of Rs 50 per question, along with applicable bank charges, will apply for each challenge.
Objections and what comes next
RRB has said that if an objection is found to be valid, the fee will be refunded to the same account used for payment after bank charges are deducted. The board’s decision on objections will be final, and no further correspondence will be entertained.
The railway recruitment board has also advised candidates to rely only on official websites for updates and not on notices circulating on social media. The Chandigarh RRB notice page has repeated the same advisory, while the Digialm login page is currently active for answer key access. The results of the CBT-1 and the final answer key will determine the next step of the recruiting process. A tentative date for the CBT-2 is September 17, 2026, according to various education portals.
