Amit Shah expressed confidence about forming a government by winning a majority of seats in Bengal. At the press conference, Shah said, “Just a few days ago, we had presented a charge sheet before the people of Bengal. All the corruption and misgovernance that happened during 15 years of this government was included in that charge sheet. This manifesto contains the roadmap of how the Bharatiya Janata Party will build ‘Bikashit Bangla’.”
However, the Trinamool Congress has criticised the BJP’s manifesto. It said, “If illegal infiltration has occurred, then is this not a stain on Home Minister Amit Shah? Even after conducting NRC, why did the Election Commission and the Home Ministry fail to publish even one verified statistic of foreigners identified in Bengal?” The Trinamool Congress also sarcastically called the BJP’s manifesto a ‘blank paper’.
