Access to life-saving heart surgeries remains a challenge for many children from low-income families, particularly those diagnosed with congenital heart disease, where early intervention is critical but often unaffordable.
Against this reality, Ambuja Neotia Group has initiated Dhadkan, a program aimed at offering free pediatric cardiac surgeries for kids from poor economic backgrounds.

This program was announced during the NEOPEDICON 2026, which is a pediatric convention organised by Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited. The treatment services would be provided at Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre.
Bridging a persistent treatment gap
Congenital heart disorder (CHD) is one of the leading congenital disorders, yet specialised medical care is not available to many patients due to their poor financial condition. This could result in adverse effects on survival rates and overall health outcomes.
As per officials, this project aims to bridge the gap between specialised medical care by funding surgeries and other expenses involved in the process to allow early access to treatment.
Addressing the crowd at the launch, Parthiv Neotia, the Joint Managing Director of the company, revealed that the program had been designed so that patients did not face any difficulty due to their financial problems.
Some of the other officials who graced the ceremony include Pradeep Lal Mehta, the Vice-Chairman and MD of Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited, Ruma Banerjee, Joint President & COO, and Dr. Indrani Subramanian, Facility Director, New Town center.
Expanding access to paediatric cardiac care
Healthcare experts note that while diagnostic capabilities have improved, access to treatment remains uneven, particularly in eastern India. Programmes that reduce financial burden are seen as critical in improving outcomes.

Officials said Dhadkan will focus on bridging this gap by combining existing medical infrastructure with targeted support for families unable to afford care.
The initiative is part of the group’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts in healthcare.
