IndiGo has begun gradually restoring its scheduled flight network to destinations in the Middle East and Europe, even as conditions in the region remain volatile. The airline said it has been working closely with relevant authorities in India and abroad to rebuild operations safely.
In a press statement issued on March 9, the airline said it restarted flights to select Middle East destinations from March 3 in a staggered manner. Since then, it has operated more than 165 flights and carried over 22,000 passengers between India and the region.
Long-haul operations restarted
IndiGo said it resumed its long-haul operations from March 8 using Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft taken on wet or damp lease from Norse Atlantic Airways. These aircraft are operating services connecting India with Manchester, Amsterdam, and London.
The airline added that it is already operating flights between Athens and Indian cities such as Delhi and Mumbai using its A321XLR aircraft.

One of the flights, 6E002 from London Heathrow to Mumbai, was diverted to Cairo and is expected to depart later.
Monitoring situation in volatile region
IndiGo said the flight operations remain subject to regulatory approvals and prevailing safety conditions.
The airline added that it is closely monitoring developments across all its stations in the Middle East and coordinating with authorities to ensure safe continuation of services.
