Actors Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram have welcomed their first child, a baby girl, marking a special new chapter in their lives. The couple shared the news on Instagram on March 10, revealing that their daughter’s arrival coincided with an already meaningful date for the family.
A coincidence that has brought double the joy to the family is that the birth date of the newborn coincides with that of Randeep’s father, Ranbir Hooda.
The actors posted a heartfelt message alongside the announcement. “Dada aur poti ne janamdin ki ghaniye badhai. Today, as I become a father, my appreciation for you has only grown deeper, Papa. And most importantly, Lin, thank you for making me a father and for bringing our little girl into this world. A little girl and a lifetime of love”, the post read.

A quiet announcement after maternity photos
Just a day before sharing the birth announcement, the couple had posted a series of maternity photographs on social media. The images captured an intimate moment as they prepared to welcome their first child.
In the pictures, Randeep and Lin were seen posing together in a calm, softly lit setting. The photographs reflected a quiet anticipation as the couple waited for the arrival of their daughter.
A relationship that began in theatre
Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram first met while working with the Motley theatre group, which is headed by veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah. The two actors began as friends and eventually evolved into something more with the passage of time.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, the two began living together. In 2022, they made their relationship public through social media, giving fans a glimpse into their personal lives.
Wedding rooted in Manipuri tradition
The couple got married on November 29, 2023, in Imphal, Manipur. The ceremony followed traditional Meitei rituals and honoured Lin Laishram’s cultural heritage.
The intimate wedding was attended by close family members and friends. Later, the couple hosted a reception in Mumbai where several members of the film industry were present.
