The Centre took a new initiative to further strengthen the country's logistics network. On Tuesday in New Delhi, Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia launched three new premium delivery services of the postal department.
The new services include 24 Speed Post, 48 Speed Post and 24 Speed Post Parcel. These services have been launched to ensure fast and time-bound delivery.

New premium postal services promise faster, time-bound deliveries
The government's goal is to modernise the country's logistics system. At the same time, to increase the speed and efficiency of delivery. At that event, Scindia said this step marks the beginning of a major transformation for the Indian postal system. Through this, it will be possible to provide better services to customers. On this, he said, 'Today we are announcing to millions of customers worldwide that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India Post is committed to serving every citizen of the country and international customers.' These services had been running on a trial basis for the past three months. Only after that were they officially launched.
The 24 Speed Post and 24 Speed Post Parcel services will deliver within one day among six major metro cities. These cities are— New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

This service will have real-time tracking. Delivery will be confirmed with OTP. And there will be compensation arrangements if delayed. Delivery will be done on Sundays and holidays as well. However, delivery will not be done on national holidays.
On the other hand, the 48 Speed Post service will deliver within two days. This is primarily a reliable and time-bound service for sending documents. It will have tracking and SMS alerts.
Initially, these services have been launched in six metro cities. Gradually, they will be expanded to Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities as well. E-commerce companies, small businesses, start-ups and general customers will benefit from this initiative. It will be possible to deliver parcels faster.
