The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the CTET Result 2026, which marks the end of the wait for lakhs of candidates who have been awaiting the results of the examination conducted in February and March. The candidates can access the result on the official website, ctet.nic.in.
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a requirement for candidates who wish to take up teaching posts in central government schools and is also recognised by some state and CBSE schools.

Exam overview and qualifying criteria
The CTET 2026 examination was held at several examination centers across the nation in February and March. The examination is conducted to test the eligibility of candidates for a teaching position in two different levels: level 1 for classes 1-5 and level 2 for classes 6-8.
As per the qualifying norms of the board, candidates from the general category are required to obtain a minimum of 60%, which is equivalent to 90 marks out of a total of 150 marks. Candidates from reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, and PwD are required to obtain a minimum of 55%, which is equivalent to 82 marks.
Lifetime validity and career opportunities
One of the major highlights of the CTET examination is the lifetime validity of the eligibility certificate. The candidates who have cleared the examination can apply for teaching positions without any time constraints.

The candidates can apply for positions like Primary Teacher (PRT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), Subject Teacher, Teaching Assistants, Contractual Posts, depending on the other qualifications like B.Ed. and DElEd.
