CBSE releases Class 10 second board exam results

The declaration of the Class 10 Second Board Examination Result 2026 marks an important step in CBSE's new two-exam system. The second examination was introduced to provide students with another opportunity to improve their scores and strengthen their academic records without waiting for the next academic session, as per NDTV reports.

The examination was conducted in May 2026, and nearly 6.8 lakh students appeared for it. The additional exam is aimed at helping students enhance their performance in subjects where they seek better marks.

How can students access their scorecards?

Students can check their results through the official CBSE result portals by entering their roll number, school number and other required credentials. Once logged in, candidates can view, download and save their scorecards for future use.

The board has also made arrangements for students to access their results through digital platforms such as DigiLocker. Digital marksheets and related academic documents will be available through these services, making it easier for students to retrieve and store their records securely, according to NDTV.

Part of the new examination framework

The second board examination is part of CBSE's efforts to implement reforms aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The system is designed to reduce the pressure associated with a single annual examination by offering students another chance to improve their performance within the same academic cycle.

Under this framework, students can choose to appear in the second examination to improve marks in eligible subjects. The initiative is intended to provide greater flexibility and encourage better learning outcomes.

What students should keep in mind?

Following the release of the results, students are advised to carefully review the information mentioned on their scorecards. Any discrepancies should be reported through the appropriate channels as specified by the board.
