The notification for Central Teacher Eligibility Test September 2026 has been released by Central Board of Secondary Education. Online registration had started on May 11, 2026, and eligible candidates can apply through the official website.
The last date to submit the application form is June 10, 2026 till 11:59 PM. Candidates can make corrections in their forms from June 15 to June 18, 2026. The exam will be held on September 6, 2026.

What is the big change this year
As per News18 reports, this year, Central Board of Secondary Education has made a big change in the CTET process. Candidates will not be able to choose their preferred exam city while filling out the application form.
The official notice stated, āIt is informed to all applicants that the option to select an exam city is not available on the online application portal. The examination city to the applicants will be allotted by CBSE on random basis. The request for change of allotted examination city, for whatsoever reason, shall not be accepted."
The board also clarified that examination dates will also be allotted randomly in some cities.
Important dates candidates must know
The last date for fee payment through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking is June 10, 2026 till 11:59 PM. Admit cards will be released two days before the exam starts.
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test September 2026 exam will be held in 132 cities across India and in 27 languages. The results are expected to be announced by the end of October 2026.
Who can apply for CTET 2026
For Paper 1, which is for Classes 1 to 5, candidates must have passed Class 12 with at least 50 percent marks along with D.El.Ed or B.Ed-related qualifications.
For Paper 2, meant for Classes 6 to 8, candidates should have graduation along with D.El.Ed, B.Ed, BA/BSc.Ed, or Special Education qualifications according to the eligibility rules set by Central Board of Secondary Education.

To apply for Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2026, candidates need to visit the official website at ctet.nic.in and click on the āApply Onlineā link. After that, they must fill in their personal and educational details, upload a scanned photograph and signature, pay the application fee online, and submit the form. Candidates should also download a copy of the application form for future use.

Application fee and qualifying marks
General and OBC-NCL category candidates have to pay Rs 1000 for one paper and Rs 1200 for both papers. SC, ST, and Divyang candidates need to pay Rs 500 for one paper and Rs 600 for both papers.
To pass the exam, General category candidates must score 90 marks out of 150, while SC and ST candidates need at least 82 marks out of 150.
