When will CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 be released? Here's what we know so far

More than 18 lakh students, including 10.2 lakh boys and 8.3 lakh girls, are waiting for the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026, which is expected to be announced soon by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Students across different streams are eagerly checking for updates about the result date.

The result announcement will include details such as the number of students scoring above 90 percent and 95 percent, along with district-wise, gender-wise, and stream-wise performance. While CBSE does not release an official merit list, some schools may announce their toppers separately.

When will CBSE Class 12 be declared

As per NDTV reports, based on previous trends, CBSE is expected to declare the Class 12 board results between May 11 and May 17. Students can check their scores online once the results are officially announced.

Will students get grace marks

As per CBSE guidelines, grace marks may be awarded to students who miss the passing mark of 33 per cent by one or two marks. Grace marks can also be given if a paper is considered unusually difficult, lengthy or contains questions outside the syllabus.

What is CBSE’s OSM system

As per NDTV reports, CBSE has introduced the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 evaluation. Under this process, teachers check scanned answer sheets digitally through a dedicated platform. The system aims to reduce evaluation.

How are grades awarded in CBSE Class 12

CBSE awards grades from A1 to E based on student performance. A1 is given to the top one-eighth of passed candidates, followed by A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1 and D2. Grade E is awarded to failed candidates. Students must secure at least 33 per cent marks to pass the examination.
