NTA to close UGC NET June 2026 registration on May 20: Here's the direct link to apply online

The National Testing Agency will close the application process for UGC NET June 2026 on May 20, and candidates can submit their forms online through the official website.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to close the registration window for the UGC NET June 2026 examination on May 20. Candidates who have not yet applied can complete the process through the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

UGC NET is conducted to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and admission to PhD programmes in universities and colleges across India. The examination will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, as per Hindustan Times.

Registration process to end on May 20

The application process for UGC NET June 2026 began on April 29 and will conclude on May 20, according to the official notification issued by NTA. Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online before the deadline.

After completing the registration process, candidates must fill in the application form, upload the necessary documents, and pay the prescribed examination fee. Once the form is submitted, applicants are advised to download the confirmation page and keep a copy for future reference.

Correction window to open after registration closes

NTA has also announced that candidates will get an opportunity to edit their submitted application forms. The correction window will remain open from May 22 to May 24.

During this period, applicants can make changes to the permitted fields in their forms. Candidates are advised to carefully review all details before final submission to avoid discrepancies later in the process.

Examination schedule and admit card details

The UGC NET June 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted from June 22 to June 30 across various examination centres in the country.

As per the schedule released by NTA, the city intimation slip is expected to be issued by June 10, and admit cards for the examination are likely to be released on June 15, according to Hindustan Times.

Candidates can download both documents from the official website using their login credentials once they are made available.

Where candidates can apply

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official UGC NET portal at ugcnet.nta.nic.in before the registration deadline ends on May 20. The examination will cover multiple subjects and will be conducted in different shifts during the exam period.
