Only after Ranveer Singh shocked everyone by walking out of the production of Don 3, comes another bombshell from the world of Bollywood. Akshaye Khanna has apparently walked out of his upcoming major project, Drishyam 3. Although there are no statements from Akshaye or the producers, rumours are rife that he has called an early cut due to some creative and monetary demands. As expected, social media is filled with theories and opinions.
The highly anticipated Don 3, helmed by none other than Bollywood star and director Farhan Akhtar, found itself in an unexpected snag when Ranveer Singh walked away from the project. Ranveer ādid not want to be seen in back-to-back gangster films," Hindustan Times quoted a Pinkvilla report as reporting.
Why did Akshay Khanna leave Drishyam 3?
Reportedly, Akshaye Khanna backed out of Drishyam 3 due to "Creative & Financial" differences. With his last film "Dhurandhar" being a huge hit, Akshaye has reportedly asked for a handsome increase in his pay for his next film. He has also asked for some modifications in his appearance in that film.
As per a report by the Hindustan Times, sources indicated that these demands led to some disagreements during the initial phases of the production process. It has been reported that Akshaye made the difficult call to walk away from the venture when neither party was in a position to give in.
Akshaye Khanna has been impressive in the action-spy thriller Dhurandhar, in which he portrayed Rahman Dakait, the genius behind the āPeopleās Aman Committeeā and the Baloch gang leader. Akshaye received immense appreciation for his performance in Dhurandhar, which has been praised as one of the best performances in Bollywood, making everyone more eager for his upcoming projects.
