Court declines to hear the case
However, the Delhi High Court has dismissed Sameer Wankhede’s application. The bench led by Justice Purushendra Kumar Kaurav ruled that the Delhi High Court is not the appropriate venue for hearing this case. It was stated that the court does not have jurisdiction to accept the matter. The Delhi High Court directly dismissed the case against the series’ production company.
Allegations linked to the web series
The former NCB officer’s claim is that the series produced by Shah Rukh Khan has mocked him. He alleged that a government officer’s character has been insulted. Not only that, he claimed there is also a facial resemblance between this character and himself. Moreover, the phrase ‘Satyamev Jayate’ was repeatedly heard from that character’s mouth, which Sameer Wankhede also says multiple times in reality.
