A brief exchange at the Screen Awards 2026 has sparked a major online debate, putting actor Rajpal Yadav in the spotlight. A comment made during a live segment quickly spread online, attracting mixed reactions on social media.

Many users criticised the comment, while others debated the tone of the exchange. As the discussion grew, Salman Khan publicly expressed his support to the actor, driving the conversation even further.

What happened at the event?

The moment occurred during a segment hosted by journalist Saurabh Dwivedi. In a clip that went viral, Dwivedi referenced Rajpal Yadav's reported financial case. He said, "Rajpal bhai, dollar kitna bhi upar-neeche ho jaye, aapko utne hi paise lautane padenge, jitne udhar hai."



The remark appeared to catch Rajpal Yadav off guard. He paused briefly before replying with a composed smile. He said, "Masla toh sun lo ek baar. Main toh masla hi sunana chahta hoon."

Salman Khan steps in

Amid the growing online chatter, Salman Khan publicly voiced his support for Rajpal Yadav. His message, too, went viral quickly. Salman Khan acknowledged the actor's long career in cinema in his X post, saying, "Rajpal bhai aap 30 yrs se kaam kar rahe ho aur hum sabne aapko repeat kiya hai baar baar kyunki aap apna kaam jante ho aur ek value laate ho...”

He further added, “Kaam toh aapko bohot milega aur issi dollar rate pe milega aur milte rahega . Hakikat yeh hai . Aur yeh yaad rakhna ke kabhi kabhi flow mai kuch nikal aata hai ,dena hi hai toh dimag mai rakho dil se kaam karo...” Salman remarked, urging him to stay focused and keep working from the heart.



Clips from the event and Salman Khan’s response spread quickly online. Many viewers shared strong opinions. Many also criticised the original remark as insensitive.
