Monalisa Bhonsle, popularly known as the viral ‘Prayagraj Kumbhmela girl’, approached a police station in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, seeking protection after alleging that her father was trying to forcibly take her back to her hometown, Indore. She is currently in Kerala for the shooting of a film and reportedly plans to marry her boyfriend.
As PTI reported, according to police, Monalisa and her boyfriend, who is a native of Uttar Pradesh, reached the Thampanoor police station along with members of the film crew. They alleged that her father was trying to take her away against her will.
"She insisted that she won't go with her father and made it clear that she is going to marry her boyfriend. As she is a major, she can act according to her choice," a police officer said.

From Kumbh fame to Bollywood opportunity
Monalisa first grabbed public attention during the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj last year after a content creator posted a Reel of her on Instagram. Her striking looks and expressive eyes quickly made her popular on social media, and she soon became a crowd favourite at the Kumbh, with thousands of people waiting to take selfies with her.
Her viral fame later opened doors in the film industry. Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra met her and offered her a role in his upcoming film The 'Diary of Manipur', which is scheduled for release in April, according to IMDb.
Monalisa had originally travelled from Indore to Prayagraj to sell garlands and earn a living. However, her life took an unexpected turn when she was offered a role in a Bollywood film. She later returned to Indore for acting training before moving to Mumbai. Mishra said that while her accent remains a challenge as an actor, she adapted well during the shoot and added that her innocence is what makes her stand out.
