As rain clouds began to clear, the Alipore Meteorological Department signalled another shift in weather conditions across West Bengal. The weather in South Bengal is expected to remain somewhat erratic for now. While there may not be any major change in the next 24 hours, temperatures in the region could rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the following three days. However, this spell of uncomfortable heat is not expected to last long.

According to the weather office, temperatures in South Bengal may begin to drop again from next week. Meanwhile, the districts of North Bengal are unlikely to witness any significant temperature changes.

Although Kolkata’s sky remained overcast from Wednesday morning, there was no significant rainfall in most parts of the city. However, light rain may occur in some areas during the afternoon or evening hours. The minimum temperature in Kolkata was recorded at 24.6 degrees Celsius, which is 2.9 degrees above normal, while the maximum temperature stood at 31.1 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees below the normal level.

The meteorological department has indicated that there is no possibility of any major temperature fluctuations across Bengal during the week. As a result, weather conditions are expected to remain relatively pleasant during the early morning hours. At times, strong winds may blow during the day or night.

At the same time, the meteorological department has issued a special advisory for farmers. Farmers have been urged to quickly harvest and store potatoes from fields where the crop is ready for lifting. Sudden rainfall could damage the produce if it remains in the fields. People have also been advised to avoid staying in open areas if rain begins along with thunder and lightning.
