Ishan Kishan’s explosive batting, Sanju Samson’s consistency, and Jasprit Bumrah’s clinical bowling have propelled them up the rankings, highlighting the strength of a team that lifted the title after defeating New Zealand.
Ishan Kishan rockets to No. 2 in batting rankings
Ishan Kishan was one of the standout performers of the tournament, smashing 317 runs with remarkable intent and aggression. His match-winning knocks throughout the World Cup helped him climb two spots to reach No. 2 in the ICC T20I batting rankings.
He now sits just behind teammate Abhishek Sharma, who retained the No. 1 position, making it a historic moment for Indian cricket with two batters occupying the top two spots. Kishan’s fearless strokeplay, particularly in crucial matches like the semifinal against England, helped him leapfrog big names including Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan and England’s Phil Salt.

Sanju Samson produced one of the most dramatic rises in the rankings, jumping 18 places from 40th to 22nd after a sensational tournament. Named Player of the Tournament, Samson scored 321 runs, including three consecutive fifties and a match-defining 89 off 46 balls in the final.
His performances showed his ability to anchor the innings while also accelerating when needed, firmly establishing him as a dependable middle-order force for India.

All-rounder Axar Patel also enjoyed a strong rise, moving up six places to 17th among bowlers. His crucial three-wicket spell in the final and two outstanding catches in the semifinal highlighted his immense value to the team during the title-winning campaign.
