Is Meghan Markle returning to Suits? Here's what her team said

Rumours about Meghan Markle returning to the world of Suits have officially been denied.

Speculation recently surfaced online claiming the Duchess of Sussex could reprise her role as Rachel Zane in a possible Suits reunion film. However, a representative for Markle dismissed the reports, telling E! News on May 11 that there is "no truth" to the rumours.

'Suits' creator had earlier hinted at movie possibility

While Markle's return is reportedly not happening, Suits creator Aaron Korsh had previously spoken about the possibility of revisiting the hit legal drama through a film project.

Ahead of the premiere of Suits: LA in 2024, Korsh told Entertainment Weekly, "I was very satisfied with the way Suits ended, and at some point, we might do a Suits movie, and that could be fun."

Although no reunion film has been confirmed so far, Korsh later added that it was "not an insane notion for us to someday do that".

The spin-off series Suits: LA was later cancelled after one season.

Meghan left acting after engagement to Prince Harry

Markle exited the original series in 2017 shortly after her engagement to Prince Prince Harry. The show continued for another season after her departure, but the former actor explained at the time why leaving acting felt like the right decision.

"I don't see it as giving anything up," Markle said during the couple's BBC post-engagement interview. "I just see it as a change. It's a new chapter, right?"

The Duchess also suggested that she planned to move away from acting entirely and focus on other priorities.

"I think what's been really exciting as we talk about the transition out of my career and into my role is the causes that are really important to me," she said, "That I can focus even more energy on."

Since stepping away from Suits, Markle has focused largely on business ventures, philanthropic projects and family life with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. She has also returned occasionally to television projects, including her lifestyle series With Love, Meghan.
